On March 5, 2008, we launched a new talk show, similar to that of traditional radio, titled HurricaneTrack News/Talk. The show begins at 9pm Eastern Time and will run for an hour or so. It is "aired" live and available free to the public. All you have to do is visit the homepage of our site and a Windows Media console will play the audio feed. The show is structured to include topics relating to hurricanes and preparedness but will also feature special guests. In addition, we open the show to call-in guests via a toll-number (sorry, no toll-free yet but that may come soon). Our call screener will ask for your first name and what you wish to talk about. He will let you know the cue for when you are about to be put on the show. We are looking for callers who wish to ask relevant questions about our guest, hurricanes in general, preparedness and the upcoming season. You may email us with your question or comment. In fact, you may do this at anytime, not just during the show itself. We will pick several emails to answer during the show so go ahead, submit your question or comment- we might just use it live. The show is hosted by Mark Sudduth, Jesse Bass and Mike Watkins. There may be situations when any of the three might have to be absent in which case we will go on with who ever is available that night. In the event the show airs during a hurricane or tropical storm mission, we will do the show where ever we are in the mission. We will archive each week's show in WMA & MP3 format for you to download and listen to at any time. Thursday, May 15, 2008 Scheduled guest: Dr. Steve Lyons, hurricane expert for The Weather Channel. We'll talk with Dr. Lyons about his career, the upcoming hurricane season and the challenges of keeping the public informed in a world of so many distractions.
